The annual North Willamette Wine Trail returns for its 11th year, kicking off its second decade of annual wine adventures with an added philanthropic mission. More than twenty wine producers have joined together to deliver a weekend of unique wine experiences, while helping to grant a wish for a critically ill child in the Tualatin Valley. A portion of each ticket will be donated to Make-A-Wish Oregon.
This self-guided wine-tasting weekend offers a myriad of rich and diverse events: wine tasting, food and wine pairings, entertainment, hands-on winegrowing and winemaking demonstrations, as well as wine education. A central theme will be the warm welcome and approachability for which the eclectic Tualatin Valley wine community is known. Weekend tickets ($75) as well as single day tickets ($50) provide participants their choice of locations to visit. Twenty percent of ticket revenue will be donated to Make-A-Wish Oregon. Tickets may be purchased in advance online at nwwinetrail.com.
Ticketed participants will receive a commemorative wine glass and a lanyard at their first stop on the tour (at the location of their choice). After each winery visit/activity, attendees will receive a unique button associated with that winery’s theme which can adorn their lanyard. To ensure safe and sober passage between wineries, North Willamette Vintners offers a designated driver ticket for $25. The ticketed designated driver can participate in all events, collect the pins, nosh on appetizers, and will receive two single-use, complimentary wine tasting cards for future use at participating North Willamette Valley wineries (value $20-$30).
Lovers of Oregon wine will partake in truly unique and informative experiences from exploring
clones of the Willamette Valley’s iconic Pinot Noir, learning about grape vine propagation (including taking home a cutting for the garden), tasting German varietals that were part of original Willamette Valley plantings, trying the epic pairing of sparkling wine and donuts, or learning to play the Italian game of bocce. . . and that’s just day one.
