EdenAcres Environmental Education is the recipient of a $14,859 grant from the Washington County CARES Program Fund of Oregon Community Foundation in order to help sustain outdoor, experiential learning programs for children. Funds will be used for personal protective equipment, additional teaching staff, and increasing access to outdoor learning through scholarship support for families.
The mission of the EdenAcres is to empower learners through experiential education. EdenAcres envisions a world that cares for the Earth and its people, is equitable, and exists within the limits of the ecosystems that provide for our needs. In order to realize this vision, EdenAcres fosters environmental literacy throughout Washington County through its nature immersion and school garden programs. These programs use experiential learning methods that connect and empower students.
Oregon Community Foundation (OCF) puts donated money to work in Oregon – more than $100
million in grants and scholarships support Oregonians annually. For nearly 45 years, OCF
grantmaking, research, advocacy and community-advised solutions have helped individuals,
families, businesses and organizations create charitable funds to improve lives for all Oregonians.
Impactful giving – time, talent and resources from many generous Oregonians – creates
measurable change.
The Foundation makes grants through an application process that involves local citizens in the
review and evaluation of requests for funds. Application materials are available through the
Foundation’s Portland office. Individuals or businesses interested in establishing a fund may
